Grief & Suicidality: How and Why to Stay Alive

Whew – the holidays are not super fun, are they? It’s been years since I’ve celebrated the season, but even not-celebrating can be hard. I also carry the knowledge of how many of you struggle during this season.

Adding holiday expectations and stress to your grief can really send you over the edge. Keeping yourself safe and as well-cared for as you can is a priority.

Lots of grieving people wake up each morning less than happy to be alive. That’s not the same thing as feeling suicidal. But because friends & family tend to get upset when you say you’re not that psyched to be alive, most folks tend to not talk about this aspect of grief. That’s dangerous.
